The objectives of the IAU have resulted from events in Iraq in 2003.
Realisation of the IAU’s objectives will help Iraq to attain the security and order necessary for it to progress towards becoming a major stabilising factor in the international community.
Attainment of the IAU’s objectives will also mean that the people of Iraq will be given the chance, after years of oppression and deprivation of freedoms, to experience a future of peace and liberty in spite of all the difficulties they currently face.
To make the very most of this opportunity, the IAU will do its utmost to pursue its objectives before the current window of opportunity in Iraq closes. It is a window of opportunity, the IAU believes, that must be used in the interests of both the international community, and, in particular, the people of Iraq.
